What is Banner Advertising?

Banner advertising is the placement of an advertisement graphic (a "banner") at strategic locations within a web-site. Generally, (but not absolutely necessary) these banners are "clickable" - i.e. when the user clicks on the banner, he/she is taken to a page directly related to the banner. This page may be on the same site or ANY other site.

Why Use Banner Advertising?

Advertising with banners is not very different than advertising in a magazine or newspaper - The more noticeable the advertisement, the more likely it is to be effective. Web banner advertisements can even be animated to further attract the browser's attention. Banner advertising, when used strategically, can be very directly targeted and an excellent vehicle for promoting your business or service.

CottageLINK offers Banner Advertising on most of our pages. We do not rotate ads in and out. An ad, when placed on a page, is viewable every single time that page is loaded. There are two different sizes of banner ads that may be placed on CottageLINK pages - 400 X 40 and 125 X 100, samples of which are shown below.
